Position Summary

Looking for an SIC as an addition to an existing 3 pilots crew. Part 91 only. Second-In-Command reports directly to the designated Pilot-In-Command that is assigned to the flight and is designated by the company.

Relocation is required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with appropriate Aircraft Type Rating

  • Obtain and maintain an FAA First Class Medical

  • 2500 hours Total Fixed Wing

  • 500 hours Multi-Engine Land

  • 200 hours Pilot-in-Command

  • 100 hours Turbojet

  • 3 years of aviation experience

  • Must be able to work flexible schedules

  • Willing and able to travel worldwide extensively, without any restrictions

  • Must have a valid driver's license

Main Responsibilities

  • Supports the Pilot-in-Command wit safe conduct of the flight.

  • Ensures that manuals, charts, catering and other customer specific special items are on board the aircraft and that the aircraft is clean.

  • Develop the leadership skills, knowledge, judgment and technical ability required of a PIC if not already qualified.

  • Make an immediate report to the Director of Quality, Security and EHS using a Hazard Report on any hazardous event.

  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems which they are authorized to operate to include all emergency systems and procedures associated with the aircraft

  • Secure the aircraft after each flight to include arranging hangar storage if they deem necessary or they are instructed to do so by the company management

  • Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agency

  • File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility

  • Analyze area, enroute and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates

  • Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator {ISC) under the provision of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program as applicable

  • Maintain a complete working knowledge of all aircraft systems which they are authorized to operate to include all emergency systems and procedures associated with the aircraft

  • Represent Jet Aviation as one company internally and externally with industry groups, regulatory bodies and the General Dynamics network

  • Conduct the required passenger safety briefings

At the discretion of the Pilot-In-Command:

  • Accurate completion of all trip paperwork in accordance with current procedures

  • Record all aircraft discrepancies as they occur on the aircraft discrepancy log and immediately report these discrepancies to the director of maintenance or their designee as soon as possible. Refer to the approved MEL and as directed by the DOM or his designee determine if the inoperative item can be deferred or needs to be repaired and completes the aircraft discrepancy log as required

  • Secure the aircraft after each flight to include arranging hangar storage if they deem necessary or they are instructed to do so by the company management

  • Obtain the most current weather reports, forecasts and NOTAMS from a FAA flight service station or other authorized agency

  • File or cause a flight plan to be filed with the FAA or an ICAO state ATC facility

  • Analyze area, enroute and terminal charts for the airport of intended landing and alternates

  • Perform the functions of the In TSA Flight Security Coordinator {ISC) under the provision of the twelve five standard security program or private charter standard security program as applicable

  • Conduct the required passenger safety briefings or assign that duty to the second in command

  • Complete and send the leg manifest to ops control prior to each departure

  • Complete and send the End of DAY {EOD) report to ops control upon completion of each flight day

  • Responsible for making an immediate report in any hazardous action, conduct or event to the chief pilot and director of safety

  • Additional duties assigned by the Pilot-In-Command

Work Environment

The employee must be able to work in both a heavy maintenance environment and in upscale customer areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional high volume when aircrafts arrive/depart. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration. Occasional fuel fumes may permeate the workplace. Employee must be willing and able to work in all types of weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The Hangar environment may be extreme hot and cold during certain seasons of the year.

The posted salary ranges will default to that of your regional location and will not include any premiums. The baseline range will be as follows: $170,000.00 - $200,000.00
