This pivotal role working within the Scent Unit is responsible for driving the forefront of fragrance innovation, steering proactive prototype development, and cultivating deep category expertise. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams which will shape the future of fragrance. Work closely with category leader, perfumers, strategic marketing, and Consumer Insights partners to develop innovation strategies and cutting-edge technology collections.

Your key responsibilities

Innovation Development working with the Scent Unit Global FDD:

  • Spearhead the ideation and creation of pioneering fragrance prototypes, keeping pace with evolving market trends and consumer preferences.

  • Align fragrance innovation efforts with strategic brief parameters to ensure market relevance and potential for commercial success.

  • Lead proactive prototype initiatives, rapidly translating olfactory trends and marketing insights into tangible products.

    Building Expertise:

  • Act as the authority in fragrance category knowledge, continuously expanding expertise in both olfactory and market dynamics.

  • Develop and disseminate key category insights and training within the team, enhancing collective know-how and skills.

    Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Engage with cross-disciplinary teams to nurture an environment of innovation and knowledge sharing.

  • Embrace new CI technics and advanced tools and processes to improve prototype development and promote internal engagement.

    Strategic Client Interaction:

  • Lead with confidence in client engagements, delivering persuasive presentations and prototypes that demonstrate innovation and passion.

  • Foster strong relationships with sales and perfumer teams, gathering feedback to refine and enhance prototype offerings.

    Performance Metrics:

  • Innovation impact as measured by win rate and client adoption.

  • Contribution to sales growth and profitability with a focus on novel fragrance development.

    Reporting Structure:

  • This role reports to the Global FDD, with a strong emphasis on cross-category collaboration and leadership.

  • REQUIRED – Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Fine Fragrance evaluation with Specialty Retail experience a plus.

  • Fluent in English; also French is a big plus!
