Job Summary
The Academic Success Advisor, SCB UGA will promote student success and retention through advising and programming for students in the Strome College of Business’ undergraduate program. This position provides an advisory component to the office and assists with the coordination and facilitation of special functions such as walk-in advising, Orientation, Admitted Students Day, Scholar’s Day and Open House. This position also assists with the daily administrative functions of the office including, but not limited to, the processing of BSBA Admissions and SCB continuance. This position will require occasional evening and weekend hours.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education, or Counseling from a regionally-accredited institution of higher education
Knowledge of counseling and student development theory
Detail-oriented, multi-tasking, organized, willingness to be a team player, ability to be flexible in a fast paced work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, including public speaking
Experience in counseling and advising students in academic difficulty
Experience working with at-risk populations
Experience advising a diverse student population on academics, University policy/procedure, major requirements, placement test scores, transfer equivalencies, readmission, internship opportunities and study abroad
Experience with group counseling and teaching.
