Philips Clinical Scientist in Nairobi, Kenya

Philips Ultrasound Research is part of the Philips Ultrasound business and provides the front-end innovations in ultrasound area focusing on market needs. The innovations include value propositions, integrated solutions and products that have impact on the targeted end users including healthcare workers (specialists, doctors, clinicians, nurses, midwives, sonographers) hospital administrators and patients. To foster speeding up end-to-end innovation from idea to market, it is essential to manage the entire chain – including the “front end” which includes Exploration and Proof of Concept phases, as well as formal Product Realization within the Ultrasound Business.

Your role:

  • Use clinical and technical domain knowledge in obstetrics and ultrasound to contribute to the Philips Advanced Development process, including but not limited to: User interface development and field testing, product usability assessments, system requirement definition, prototype testing and engineering clinical studies.

  • Contribute to the composition and completion of study dossiers required by internal Philips quality system for conducting clinical research studies by writing clinical protocol, case report form, consent forms and get privacy reviews as necessary with local and global counsel.

  • Contribute to clinical study execution including data collection, usability, and pilot studies for product development in Africa in obstetric ultrasound for new users.

  • Conduct research studies in a safe, humane, and efficient manner, while remaining in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards worldwide including health, legal, risk, ethics and privacy.

  • Initiate and contribute to the generation of technical notes, manuscripts, invention disclosures, patent applications, and peer-reviewed publications in obstetric ultrasound for new users.

You're the right fit if:

  • Bachelor's level education or greater in a clinical or technical environment in the area of medical imaging and/or obstetrics

  • Ability to conduct ultrasound scanning is a must.

  • Obstetric scanning experience is a plus.

  • Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Able to manage uncertainties.
