Atlantic Health System Manager, Finance in Morristown, New Jersey

Primary scope includes a broad range of financial planning and analysis: consolidating system wide operating and financial projections for the development of short and long-term business plans, management of integrated strategic financial plan model to support the annual capital budget, monitoring actual financial results against business plans, and assessing those results in the context of prospective new ventures. The role will report to Director, Business Advisory Services.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Analysis Manager responsibilities include:

  • P&L and financial model development to support business planning efforts.

  • Contribution margin assessments for physician practices and ancillary business units

  • Model management of the long-range financial plan

  • Run impact analyses on revenue opportunities.

  • Develop an understanding of the company’s various lines of business and provide ad hoc reports as needed.

  • Apply sound financial/analytic skills to perform complex analyses to promote information-based decision-making in support of key business objectives.

  • Provides financial models including assumptions to the annual AHS integrated strategic and financial plan.

  • Maintain quarterly WACC calculations.

  • Tracking of performance on approved business plans and medical neighborhood development.

  • Assist with presentation development for Network Expansion and AHS Finance & Investment Committee as needed.

  • Proactively and appropriately escalate risks, issues, and decisions.

  • Builds strong cross-functional relationships within the organization including service line operations, planning, accounting, and the physician enterprise, in addition to outside business units or affiliated organizations.

  • Has excellent communication skills. Listens well, speaks and writes clearly and concisely. Present in front of a variety of potentially large audiences.

  • Displays model behavior. Engages others to foster further development of AHS core values and mission.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics.

  • Candidates with a Master’s in Health or Business Administration strongly preferred.

  • Five years of relevant experience or experience that includes leading projects financial planning, healthcare operations, healthcare revenue cycle, healthcare finance, or system implementations.

  • Extensive knowledge of financial planning and evaluation

  • Experience utilizing cost accounting systems, GL accounts, and extensive knowledge of the healthcare reimbursement landscape to develop financial insights.

  • Extensive experience in Microsoft Access and Excel (building financial models, pivot tables, complex formulas, macros, VBA)
