The HR Launch Program Manager will be responsible for managing HR components for building launches for both Amazon Robotics and Legacy sites. They will need to inspect and monitor building progress to adhere to standards for people impacting spaces and local labor law requirements. This role will lead and support new building expansion for Operations that impacts associate engagement, business expansion and HR standard work.

We are looking for an HR Launch Program manager who is able to partner across functions and businesses to enable new site launches and transformations from an HR point of view. This role requires both strategic and hands-on leadership, developing, implementing and executing standard HR launch resources, programs, and tools as well as anticipating risks and managing complex issues towards resolution with the country and local HR leadership team. The role requires collaboration between different teams across Amazon with professionals at all levels. The HR Launch PM will need excellent communication skills, strategic thinking and planning ability, experience collecting business requirements, and conducting change management in order to implement and improve processes.

This role will be based in our Robotics Fulfillment Centre based in Kemp's Creek, Western Sydney, and requires travel to other launch sites. This role partners with the Australia and broader APAC HR leaders to drive execution of site launches (FCs, AMZL, SortCenters, etc.).

Responsibilities include:

· Building Launches and Transformations in upcoming and existing sites (including both Amazon Robotics and Legacy Sites)

· Inspects and monitors building progress and adherence to standards for people impacting spaces

· Challenges and escalates on any variance to agreed standards for people impacting spaces

· Anticipates and escalates/resolves people impacting risks for new launch sites and influences mitigation strategies

· Anticipates and escalates/resolves critical role hiring risks and ensures internal guidelines are adhered to

· Accountable for the timely and accurate set-up of people systems (such as Time and Attendance) and processes (such as the Employee engagement processes)

· Responsible for the coordination/set-up of HR capabilities programs for new and current sites

· Responsible for the creation and implementation of building launch/transformations communications plan

· Responsible for balancing Amazon global standards vs local needs. (ie. # Microwaves, lockers size, # refrigerators, etc)

· Serve as escalation point for any HR related new site issues

· Responsible for identifying best practices across Amazon and setting up a plan short-mid term for implementations.

Stakeholder Management and Governance

· Responsible for the set-up of People Governance structure for a site launch

· Facilitates project communication to stakeholders and leads project status meetings

· Partners with key internal stakeholders to ensure payroll/time-keeping and HRIS tools and processes are properly implemented on time for site launch

· Builds cross-functional partnerships – works closely with Regional Operations leaders, new site leadership teams, and other departments such as Recruiting, Workforce Staffing, PR, Legal, Payroll and HRS to achieve objectives

Project Management

· Creates and implements consistent, repeatable expansion project plans for site launches and key HR implementations for all sites

· Partners with all HR COEs (ER, L&D, TA, WFS and Peopletech) to support their initiatives across Australia & Singapore

· Partner with HR expansion team colleagues to identify best practices to be leveraged across the network and define key performance indicators for successful site launch

· Develop and drive critical people initiatives, large projects and providing great internal stakeholder and candidate customer support

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience as a Project Manager/Program Manager in Human Resources or with M&A integration

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree

  • Strong verbal and written fluency in English

  • Proven cross-functional and international project management experience, handling complex change initiatives

  • Good understanding of relevant employment legislation that a launch may impact

  • Ability to travel 50+% of working time is required; including potential temporary relocation during site launch time frame

  • Proficiency in project planning methodologies and tools, ability to scale tools (e.g. excel-based) to automated solutions (e.g. project management tools with automated dependency management)

  • Strong business acumen and ability to work effectively across business lines and varying cultures.

  • Ability to navigate internally to leverage existing programs and best practices

  • Bias for action, excellent attention to detail and relentless commitment to follow-through

  • Ability to multi-task and handle various projects simultaneously to drive timely results

  • Ability to prioritize effectively and facilitate action across remote groups

  • Ability to convey recommendations and ideas in a clear, compelling and succinct way in written and verbal communications

  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with a wide variety of audiences – technical and business clients, HR functions, and all levels of employees

Preferred Qualifications

  • In addition, generalist HR exposure in a fast paced, operational environment is desired

  • Experience leading global program initiatives and/or process improvement efforts

  • Broad experience across Human Resources areas in Operations including HR tech initiatives, talent acquisition, HR services, employee relations, L&D, talent and performance management
