APL Ship Planner in Melbourne, Australia

Reporting into the Cargo Services Manager, the Cargo Superintendent will have the following responsibilities -

• Planning and co-ordinating schedules of vessels in a cost effective manner

• Managing data and information pertaining to ANL and Consortium Members vessels

• Overseeing regulations regarding the cargo stowage is understood and adhered

• Provide timely advice for requests for carriage of specialised cargoes

• Keep abreast of Consortium and trade sharing agreements and be responsible for checking Terminal Performance reports for ANL vessels

The successful applicant will have the following attributes -

• Australian citizenship or permanent residence

• Previous experience in terminal/shipboard operational aspect of the shipping industry

• Tertiary qualifications in nautical studies and seafaring experience will be looked on favourably

• High level of conceptual and analytical skills

• Strong micro computer skills and operational knowledge

• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, meet deadlines and cope with changing circumstances and people

• Previous experience in ship planning using MACS 3 is highly desirable
