BR&T is looking for a high performing, collaborative Boeing Avionx Integration and Test Engineer to perform integration and testing for the Long Beach, California or Hazelwood, Missouri Boeing facilities. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate or Mid-Level Engineers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform integration and test within a complex multi-unit system with network based communication links for Ethernet, ARINC825 (Can Bus), ARINC429, and RS485 protocols

  • Perform system integration within a diverse set of input traffic types such as serial, digital, and discrete interfaces

  • Support analysis, reviews and validation of test data to ensure the readiness of instrumentation hardware and software

  • Create test cases and test procedures that support tests for compliance to requirements for both integration and formal testing (ie. Design Verification Test and DO-160 Qualification Test)

  • Review requirements and generate test plans along with test procedures

  • Create test scripts using a scripting language such as Python and C++ Perform testing using network based tools such as Wireshark, network capture devices, and electronic test equipment

  • Support related troubleshooting, root cause/corrective action investigation, and problem resolution

Note: Some domestic travel will be required to support offsite test activities

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 2+ years’ experience with computer networking and network protocols

  • 2+ years’ experience with ARINC 429 data bus protocol

  • 2+ years’ experience with Network Protocols (i.e., CCSDS, CAN, 1553)

  • 2+ years’ experience with commercial communication standards such as 1553, RS422, RS485, IRIG, and/or Ethernet

  • 2+ years’ experience with system integration and applying engineering principles so that the systems can be effectively integrated

  • 2+ years’ experience with Electrical Engineering, Test & Evaluation, and/or development/use of Special Test Equipment

  • 2+ years’ experience developing test scripts using Python and/or C++ 2+ years’ experience performing environmental testing (Thermal Cycling and Vibration)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with networking protocols with, UDP, TCP/IP, Broadcast, Multicast, Unicast message traffic types

  • Experience with both Windows OS and Linux OS

  • Experience working in an independent environment with assigned tasks and drive to completion

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level 2):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Associate level: $81,600 – $118,450

Summary pay range for Mid-level: $97,750 – $141,450
