WTW Product Development Lead in London, United Kingdom

This role presents a unique opportunity to develop and own our go-to-market product capability within a new Affinity line of business at WTW. The primary focus of this role is to lead all product development activities designing and leading the build of compliant and commercially viable products and propositions for target verticals, whilst simultaneously providing thought leadership, managing day to day products and conducting governance processes. The role will also define the technology requirements to support both the business and specific product implementations. You will be working closely with other key stakeholders in the GB and the wider Global Affinity units and UK Corporate Risk and Broking colleagues, leveraging the opportunity to add value to existing client relationships balanced with securing new (to WTW) business.

The Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:

  • Ownership of “go to market” product technology capability.

  • Customer Product Development – what we offer to end consumers for our core target markets/categories.

  • Working with relevant teams to build our core product technical capabilities to deliver product/client requirements as well as core technical capabilities (e.g. KYC)

  • Experience working with Placement & Carrier Development teams to identify and integrate carriers to support product & client implementations.

  • Ownership of Product Governance processes

Essential Criteria:

  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrated expertise as a Product Owner withing financial services, with a strong understanding of go-to-market strategies and product development processes. Proficiency in utilizing technology to deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs and enhance the company's competitive edge.

  • Customer Focus: Proven track record of driving customer-centric product development initiatives, with a deep understanding of consumer preferences and market trends within core target markets/categories. Ability to translate customer insights into actionable strategies that drive product enhancements and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborative Approach: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience working collaboratively with relevant teams to build and integrate core product technical capabilities, ensuring alignment with client requirements and business objectives.

  • Partnership Management: Extensive experience working with Placement & Carrier Development teams to identify and integrate carriers that support product and client implementations. Ability to cultivate strong partnerships with external stakeholders to drive successful product launches and client engagements.

  • Product Governance: Proven ability to take ownership of product governance processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Experience developing and implementing robust governance frameworks that support effective decision-making and risk management throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the insurance or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities. Experience developing and launching products within regulated industries, with a focus on navigating compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to think strategically and anticipate future market trends and technological advancements. Experience developing long-term product roadmaps and strategies that drive sustainable growth and competitive advantage in the marketplace.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and address complex technical and business challenges. Experience leveraging data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement within product development processes.

  • Change Management: Experience leading organizational change initiatives related to product technology and innovation. Ability to effectively manage change and drive adoption of new technologies and processes within the organization, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools, with a track record of successfully managing cross-functional projects from inception to completion. Experience prioritizing competing demands and resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading product development initiatives and managing cross-functional teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
