Responsibilities

 

Duties: The Technical Specialist - Electrified Controls Software at CNH Industrial America LLC in Livonia, MI will be responsible for the development and testing of embedded software for our electric drivetrain mechanical control systems for Utility Light Tractor and Construction Equipment Electrification projects.  The duties include supporting authoring software requirements for the Electric Vehicle (EV) software and reviewing the EV software architecture and design. Performing software integration and in-depth testing of EV software in different test environments including MIL, SIL, HIL and Field Test and supporting controls algorithm development that will be deployed in future medium and heavy utility tractors and construction equipment machines. Implementing given mechanical requirements into software components using Model Based design techniques for new hybrid drivetrain and BEV (Battery Electronics Vehicle) innovation projects. Interfacing with controls and systems engineering for the integration of software changes and official releases following a formal process. Defining embedded software architecture on different target platforms. Defining test concept for the verification of the implemented software using Software-In-Loop and Hardware-In-Loop test environments. Utilizing debuggers, emulators, compilers, static and dynamic test tools for software testing. Utilizing Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded Coder for auto code generation and testing. Utilizing embedded C/C++ programming for microcontroller based automotive electronic controllers. Reviewing progress of projects and provide frequent team progress updates to direct manager. Contributing to safety assessments (in line with Homologation/Directives/Liability Laws) and functional safety in relevant software functions in accordance to ISO25119 and other electrification standards. Ensuring the use of engineering standards, methodologies, and global product development processes into engineering team's daily work. Interfacing with Electrification Technology engineering team for HV/LV integration. Domestic travel required up to 15% with occasional travel to Italy. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Salary: $112,570 - $139,700.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or directly related field, plus four years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer, Product Engineer, Controls Engineer, or related occupation. The four years of experience must include one year of experience with each of the following: (1) Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, and Embedded Coder; (2) Software-In-Loop and Hardware-In-Lo
