Your role at Clorox:

Clorox Enterprise Data, Strategy and Operations (EDSO) is looking for an experienced and talented Associate Director, Lead Release Train Engineer (RTE) to join our team! As the RTE, you are a scaled agile expert responsible for facilitating program-wide quarterly planning, while managing team-of-teams level risks and cross-functional dependencies outside of product teams’ control. The RTE’s major responsibilities will be to facilitate the agile release train events, partner with product managers and architects to deliver value, and support EDSO portfolio management. The RTE will communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, manage risk, proactively identify and solve dependencies, and drive relentless improvement. As an Agile coach you will help drive Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mindsets. You will coach, attract, and retain a team of high performing RTE and Scrum Master direct reports.

The right candidate will have Mastery of Agile and experience in various frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, lean etc.) and a passion for teamwork, collaboration, and quality.

In this role, you will:

Product

  • Facilitate quarterly planning, while enforcing scaled agile best practices across team and managing team-of-teams level risks and dependencies outside of product teams’ control​

  • Orchestrate and facilitate release train(s), ensuring alignment, coordination, and successful delivery of initiatives across multiple teams and stakeholders​

  • Manage the release train backlog, ensuring visibility, transparency, and prioritization of marketing work items and dependencies​

  • Coordinate and manage the release planning process, working closely with cross-functional teams to define release scope, milestones, and dependencies​

  • Facilitate regular release train events, such as onsite large-room release planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among marketing teams​

  • Monitor and track the progress of initiatives and releases, identifying and mitigating risks and impediments that may impact delivery timelines or quality​

  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams on Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and processes, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence​

  • Facilitate resolution of conflicts, bottlenecks, and impediments that arise within the release train, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving environment​

  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to release delivery, efficiency, and quality​

  • Mentor and coach teams on Agile principles and practices, helping to build Agile mindset and capabilities within the marketing function​

  • Continuously assess and improve the release management process, incorporating feedback, lessons learned, and industry best practices

People

  • Lead, develop, and coach Scrum Masters and RTEs, attracting, engaging, and retaining keeping high performing talent

Portfolio

  • Support EDSO through collaboration with finance, portfolio management, and procurement including facilitation of budget management, setup of POs, invoice payment, and charter creation.

What we look for:

  • 7 plus years of experience involving complex technical business solutions, of which at least 5 years experience in agile project management

  • 2 plus years of demonstrated Scrum Master experience

  • 1 plus year of direct people management

  • Demonstrated experience in designing and executing agile methodologies and best practices for data

  • Proven ability to develop technical product roadmaps and prioritize product backlogs​

  • Extensive experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve operational goals and deliver successful technology initiatives

  • Proven ability to think several steps ahead of the team and proactively solve dependencies, risks, and bottlenecks

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment​

  • Demonstrated experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management is a plus​

  • Expertise in leading and coaching agile practices

  • Familiar with product lifecycle management, technology portfolio management approaches, and industry leading software development lifecycle practices​

  • Adept at cross-functional collaboration​ and engaging with stakeholders of different levels

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $144,200 - $289,900

–Zone B: $132,200 - $265,700

–Zone C: $120,200 - $241,600

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
