Position Title: The Claims Representative I (Health and Dental)

Location: This position will work in an on-site model . The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of 6087 Technology Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31820 .

This position will have on-site training and requires you to be in the Columbus, GA office.

Hours: 8 am-4:30 pm EST during training and 8 am - 4:30 pm EST after training.

The candidates must have 100% attendance during the first 9 weeks of training.

The Claims Representative I is responsible for successfully completing the required basic training. Able to perform basic job functions with help from co-workers, specialists and managers on non-basic issues. Must pass the appropriate pre-employment test battery.

  • Learning the activities/tasks associated with his/her role.

  • Works under direct supervision.

  • Relies on others for instruction, guidance, and direction.

  • Work is reviewed for technical accuracy and soundness.

  • Codes and processes claims forms for payment ensuring all information is supplied before eligible payments are made.

  • Researches and analyzes claims issues.

Minimum Requirements

Requires HS diploma or equivalent and related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

  • Good oral and written communication skills are preferred.

  • Previous experience using PC, and related software; and working knowledge of web browsers (Chrome, MS Edge), Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office tools is preferred.

  • Relevant to claims processing; comfortability with mathematical operations such as percentages, multiplication, and other calculations is preferred.

  • Understanding of fundamental medical terms and concepts is preferred.

  • The ability to maintain orderly records, documents, and information for efficient claims processing and retrieval is preferred.

  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace changes in procedures, policies, or technology are preferred.

  • A goal-oriented and proactive approach to problem-solving and achieving results is preferred.
