Our work depends on Security Officer joining our team, The Launch Security Operations Specialist (LSOS), provides overall security operations support for all Launch-related activities, to include SV transportation and processing, SV/LV integration, launch base operations, monitoring and operation of security and payload processing facility systems, general security requirements and Emergency management. LSOS may require specialized training.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Keep government Security Director updated on all matters regarding program security specific.

  • Assist government Security Director and Program Security Lead in developing/coordinating Launch Security Operation Working Group (LSOWG) meetings by developing/coordinating agenda, identifying appropriate participants, soliciting agenda items and developing/disseminating meeting minutes/identifying after action items.

  • Coordinate reviews/provides input/authors customer Launch Information Protection Guide (IPG).

  • Present Security Awareness Training and Education (SATE) briefings.

  • Serves as the government customer ombudsmen for classification management issues/actions.

  • Works directly with launch community on relevant integration/launch related activities, policy development/changes, and associated integration matters.

  • Interface with all various elements regarding government Security matters, including but not limited to, SV SPOs, government customer Security.

  • Investigate security incidents and violations; prepare reports of investigations for the corporation and customers, making specific recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.

  • Prepare Security Operating Procedures (SOPs) outlining customer guidelines and establishing procedures for the handling, storing, and transportation of program assets.

  • Assist with document control and program asset management and accountability.

  • Demonstrated knowledge/experience of National Industrial Security Operating Manual (NISPOM) / Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs)/Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), Executive Orders, Acquisition Security, Classification Management, Program Protection Planning, Risk Management, Contract Security/DD 254, Operations Security, etc.

  • Must have strong interpersonal skills/briefing skills; communicate with senior level leaders, internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations and independent decision making with minimal direct supervision while representing the security organization.

  • Candidate must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Must have the ability to articulate and present intelligent, decisive and risk-managed security recommendations and decisions on a daily basis.

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite (MSWord, Excel, Power Point).

  • Experience utilizing customer databases such as DISS, Scattered Castles and TALON.

  • Ability to travel to support other locations.

  • Participates in special projects as required.

● Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

● Required Experience: 2+ years of related experience

● Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph

● Location: On Customer Site

● US Citizenship Required.

The likely salary range for this position is $106,371 - $97,750. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
